Our organization

Here for young people when home gets hard.

Continue Forward is a Michigan nonprofit. When a family hits a rough season, we help their children, teens and young adults find the grants and scholarships that keep school, training and big plans within reach.

Our mission

Continue Forward is a Non-Profit organization that steps in to keep your kids on track toward successful careers when life seems to be falling apart around them due to divorce, medical issues, financial instability, and the emotional stress of a turbulent existence.

What we believe

A few things we hold onto.

They shape how we talk with families, how we choose what to apply for, and how we treat every young person who comes to us.

Education increases self-confidence

A class finished, a certificate earned, a summer spent learning something new. Each one tells a young person they can do hard things.

Make a difference in your family's future

One award can change the direction of a year, and a year can change the direction of a life. We help families take that first step.

Feel valued and part of a family

Young people do best when someone is in their corner. From the first conversation, families know they have a team behind them.

No family should do this alone

Asking for help takes courage, and it deserves dignity. We meet families where they are, without judgment, and walk the process with them.

Linda Klein, founder of Continue Forward

Linda KleinFounder, Continue Forward · Michigan

I started Continue Forward because I kept seeing the same thing happen to good families. A divorce, a diagnosis, a lost job, a death in the family, and suddenly the things a child had been looking forward to, a summer program, a college plan, a training course, were the first to go. Not because anyone stopped caring, but because there was no time, no money and no idea where to look.

What most families don't know is that help exists. Grants and scholarships are out there for exactly these situations, many of them small, local and easy to miss. Finding them and applying for them is a job in itself, and it is a job a family in crisis should not have to do alone. That is the work we take on. We listen first, we build a plan with the family, and then we do the searching, the matching and the paperwork.

I run Continue Forward personally. When you call or write, you reach me. We are serving Michigan families for now, and every young person we meet is treated the way I would want my own family treated: with respect, with honesty about what we can and cannot promise, and with real effort.

“A hard season at home should never be the reason a young person gives up on what's next.”

Where we are

Serving families across Michigan.

We work with Michigan families today, from the Upper Peninsula to the southern border. If you live somewhere else, we're sorry we can't help yet, but we'd still love to hear from you. Send us a note.

Two doors. One path forward.

Families: tell us about your situation and we'll set a time to talk. Donors: your gift pays for the people and time it takes to find and win these awards.
